Oh there is sad ish news, my husband's younger brother is deploying, I worry about him but I know he'll be ok he's as tough as his brother is and John made it out just fine. But, Keep him in your prayers! Well now I am back to my books!!

Crazy-ness!

So I haven't been on much lately we had to go out of town for a week which was boring.. lol Husband worked during the day and I read and worked on my own stuff. I am an aspiring author is what he calls me. I say I like to fiddle with this and that. Anyways so this is just a quick note before bed to keep track I have just finished another book. Elvenbane by Andre Norton and Mercedes Lackey it was pretty good I had a fun time listening to it but now my count is 6226 pgs and 83 books to go :) Told ya I got a lot of reading done lol I finished Moon Called and Bloody bones and let's see ohh Inferno all where ok I did like Moon Called. I am starting to get into the Anita blake books a little better thank God lol Well now I am off to bed gonna read some of Night pleasures. I find it a good bed time story LOL!

4096 pages 89 to go

Well I just finished Elphame's Choice by P.c. Cast The break down... He's half demon she's half Goddess. It's actually pretty interesting and emotional. (Or that could be just be since I am am having an emotional time in my life write now. It's time to reevaluate and figure out what to do now! Chin up boobs out rdy to take on the world.)
I love the visuals in this book it's very imaginative. I have read all of the house of night series which I thoroughly enjoy as a change of pace from the normal Vampire romances that are driving me bonkers but for some God awful reason I still read lol. Ok I am off I can't do much tonight as husband and I are discussing important things I just wanted to put this down before I forgot bc I have a habit of forgetting everything!

3696 pages 90 to go

I just finished Rachel Vincent's Stray. It was actually a pretty good book I enjoyed every minute. The best thing I say say is Rachel Vincent knows how to make you Hate someone with a fiery passion even you want to go through the book and kick their ass. I truly hated how they kept those poor women in cages in a basement raping them on a daily basis but then with out that you wouldn't have thoroughly enjoyed when they were murdered too! And a little spoiler... This book made me glad that even though my family is dis-functional I doubt a single one of my brothers would do what hers did. I think my brothers deserve a phone call after this saying how much I love them. Now for my real life not much has been going on John has a stupid hail and farewell he had to go to at lunch time and I only bring it up to show how stupid these people are they said the guys were allowed to bring in civies to wear to the roughly 1 hour luncheon but then they would have to change back afterward... For medical personnel these people are idiots. The dog is sick poor baby. But if he chews up another pair of my shoes I may kill him and put him out of his misery! lol But the weekend is upon us and I don't get to read much bc I can keep my nose in a book all week long and head phones for the audio books while I clean but the weekends are my time with my husband. he doesn't get much down time so I try to enjoy every little bit he does get. He's not much of a reader but he'll listen to audio books if I make him lol I always like taking long trips bc we'll listen to books on the drive he has actually read 2/3 of the Born In trilogy by Nora Roberts with me along with The Shack and Dark Prince. He wasn't impressed by that one either lol. so now in our entire marriage I have gotten him to read.... 6 or 7 books... OHHHH I am getting better! lol The only thing that man reads is when he has to study. Its not that he can't he just won't. I bought him a book that was over 400 or so pages and he took it to CQ duty and finished it that night. So I know he can read and he can read rather fast he just doesn't enjoy it for some reason. But he knows its important to me and that I want to raise our children wanting to read so he makes the effort. Anyways I am rambling now so I should get off and finish cleaning up some time for another audio book!

3078 pages 91 to go

Well what can I say another vampire romance not too bad but they're all starting to blend lol

On to my life we took the dog to get his shots and chipped poor baby but he was tough he only yelped. But unfortunately I forgot I had the food on came home to a burnt mess go me!

I love Jude Deveraux!

2685 pages 92 books to go!

On thing I love about Jude Deveraux is there isn't very much sex in her books. to me if you over-do sex it goes from love making to whoopy. It looses it's specialness it goes from something romantic to something expected "Oh they're gonna do it again..." If I wanted a tons of sex scenes I would read an erotica. But I have been a fan of Jude Deveraux for years I went from reading Harry Potter to Jude Deveraux lol. This book was great the only problem I had was the self sacrificing Bullshit. I prefer sticking together to work a problem out. Last night after I read this I was thinking if my life had been set in this way. Especially when my husband spent 15 months in Iraq. Ok so if it had been this way first we would meet, fall in love, he would get his orders he was deploying and then he would break up with me to save us both from heart ache in turn making us both miserable then he would come back and we'd work it out the end.... My life.. Met fell in love, he got his orders, we cried together, I cried, we made love, he left we spent the next year and 3 months being strong for one another I was his rock and he was mine neither one of us could have done it with out the other, he came home , we cried, we made love, we're living happily ever after. To me the Journey was better together. but for the rest f the book it was great I loved it when the reunited it wasn't your typical she can't think or speak she just loves him so much oh no she pulls a gun on him and starts shooting, all while 2 Scottish men sit and have a nice tea lol! This part and the way the body is disposed of make the entire book worth it. For me reading is a pleasure some books are worth it some aren't. On to the next book I am half way through J.R. Ward's Dark Lover and so far I haven't been impressed it's just another Vampire romance but I will stick it through and hope for the best!

2301 pages 93 to go

I just finished Laurell K. Hamilton's Lunatic Cafe which is number four in the Anita Blake Vampire hunter series. I started this series a little while back and I have to say it came off at a slow start but this one was much better. You do need to read the first three to get a good feel about what is happening in her personal but the stores can be read as stand alones. Laurell K Hamilton does a really good job of catching everyone up book by book. Anyways not much is new except my darling husband bought me a new computer its a desktop which in this case has plenty of advantages. My husband can tear apart and rebuild desktops but not laptops so if anything goes wrong I know he can fix it with out us having to buy another laptop. I am pretty excited he's alrdy put in a "Bad ass" graphics card I haven't tried it out yet but I am about to! lol

1949 pgs 94 to go

I just finished Jennifer Crusie's Anyone but You. This is the second book of hers I have read the first one was Bet Me which I found funny too. I think thats what I enjoy about her books it's not the woman has been kidnapped I must save her or anything heavy hearted it's just fun. She's easy to read and her characters all have interesting traits. I love Fred by far he was my favorite character and I laughed so many times picturing Shaggy our old family dog because he had a lot of the same attitude and well he was the most physically fit and he loved his Mcdonalds Happy meals I kid you not my mother bought him Happy meals, if we went out to eat and he didn't get anything when we got him he would literally pout. On a side note it's 6 am again but this time I have had 2 24 oz monsters OH YEAH I am about to go get my third so there is a good chance I may finish another book today lol. My husband on the other hand is like Oh God she's reading again and I say MUHAHAHA yes dear I am... But he's supportive and buys me more books when I go through the hundreds I have and say I have nothing to read. lol It's kind of like looking at all your clothes and deciding meh nothing good here. so the next book is a toss up between Stray, Lunatic Cafe, or The Good House. Decisions decisions.. Werecat, Necromancer, or something supposedly scary about demonic forces...

1666 Pages 95 books to go

So.. I just finished Sue Grafton's A is for Alibi. The characters where enjoyable I just have one thing to say about the main character maybe she needs rehab she seems to drink a lot. There was a cute supporting cast the only thing that irked me was when describing the fat woman and later on her mother as being even fatter. Was that really needed? This is my first go with an all out mystery book and I must say it was very predictable. I'll give you a hint they talk about it in the scream movies... lol I 'm a nerd but it's ok. On a side note I had a good morning I haven't been to bed yet and it's 9:30 am go me maybe I will finally stay up and sleep at night like a normal person. I doubt it but one can hope. Oh but as to my morning I made husband a yummy breakfast and finished the book i started yesterday oh yeah such an exciting life whatever will I do with myself... As for my next book I am still undecided. I have some books I need to read for this book list I am doing but I think I want a break maybe something fun just for me who knows!

1346 pages 96 books to go

Well I finished Darkfall. It was interesting. I didn't find it scary some of it was spooky I admit and I was also listening to it in the middle of the night which did not help one bit considering most of the book is about creatures in the night. These little "goblins" that a voodoo priest has summoned to kill off a cop's kids because since the cop is a righteous man he cannot be touched by the bad guy. good guy wins demons go away the end. lol It was good and spooky but altogether slow I haven't decided how I feel yet. Mainly I read it for my mom she loves Dean Koontz and Stephen King so I try to read some of their stuff so I can relate with her. Well for my next book I think I am aiming for A is for Alibi by Sue Grafton. I don't know much about it other than it's a series of books a-z lol Oh yeah I am super helpful. It'll be a surprise and who doesn't like surprises? ME! So should be fun if I don't decide to cheat and go look at the description... Anyways I am about to fall asleep at the keyboard yesterday I woke up with a horrible cold so I have been taking nothing but Nyquil and boy howdy does it make me sleepy!

962 pages 97 books to go

Well I just Finished J.D. Robb's Naked In Death
I am a fan of Nora Roberts and awe struck to think of how many books this woman has written. Now on to the book It was my first futuristic book and I can say I actually enjoyed it. Thank God since Dark prince nearly bored me to tears. Some parts of it were very emotional especially when we found out some of Eve's past. At least for me it was emotional for any woman to go through such things is heart wrenching but to over come it the way she did is inspiring. I did like it though and I will tell my friends all about it. Maybe probably not because I am the only person I know who will openly admit to reading romance novels lol. Well now its time for bed I haven't had much sleep lately and thats probably how I finished two 20 hour audio books in 2 days... Oh yeah I am a junky of the audio book. I love to read but sometimes its so hard when you have other things you need to do so I put on my head phones and get to work. Anyways I am still working on Jude Deveraux's latest novel it's good don't get me wrong I just got stuck. I think i had a little temper tantrum lately towards vampire romances and some romances that are I love you oh we're together oh no I don't wanna hurt you I must leave you now oh I love you please don't leave me again i will die with out you. My POV is YOU'RE MINE .. deal with it. I think my husband likes that too it seems to work for us at least. we've all had our ups and downs but as people in general are selfish when they love someone so much and there is danger you over come it together or you run away together. Anyways next I am gonna read Darkfall by Dean Koontz and hopefully finish off the last 100 pgs of Days of gold. So now I must go to bed it's 5 am and it's time for DH to go to work hopefully he'll have a good day. Oh on a side note I am very proud of my husband. He made a female soldier cry. I told him he's not allowed to like any woman who isn't blood related to him anyways so it doesn't matter but the whole thing was stupid she's alrdy had her husband yelling at him and then she went over his head (which in the army is a BIG no no) not just once but twice... and all bc she doesn't tell him what she needs so he talked to her about it in which she started crying I was like Jesus tell her to suck it up she's a friggin soldier! I am sorry but if I am going to be shot at I would think one stern talking to would be a piece of pie... Well I have pointlessly gone on and on so now BED!

642 Pages 98 books to go...

Again i read another vampire romance. It wasn't terrible I gave it 3/5 stars on goodreads but I think it would have gotten higher if I was not so tired of vampire romance. C'mon people enough of the necrophilia. Some books I still get a kick out of like the love at stake series, but that one is funny. I get so tired of he's dead i want to be with him forever... I did like one thing when she was talking about an attack she described the blood spraying, thats not something I usually hear in a romance novel so I thoroughly enjoyed it. But on the other hand I am not a huge fan of .... "love making" and when you get it in almost every chapter I start to feel it's less romance more ROmantica. Well Time to start or finish another book!

328 Pages 99 to go..

So I finished YouSuck, a love story. It was really good. I thoroughly enjoyed Abigail. And who thinks about shaving a 35 pound cat and dressing it in a red sweater! Loved the mental image for that one LOL!

A challenge...

So I am going to start keeping track of what I read and how many pages I have read I am hoping that I can read 100 books in one year. starting now I am reading two books Days of Gold by Jude Deveraux and You suck, a love story by Christopher Moore. It should be a fun little challenge for me to do. I am doing things through goodreads.com they have a few book challenges I am participating in but I thought this could be my own personal challenge. Well wish me luck! lol

Reading..

Oh I just haven't felt great today or yesterday and I really don't feel like doing anything. LAZY I am going to clean but right now I am content sitting here listening to an audio book. Its "a movie in your mind" lol which means there is sound effects and multiple people acting the book out. It's neat. but now I need to go the new puppy has decided to leave me a ginormous mess to clean up and he keeps giving me dirty looks I think he tryin to tell me to get busy. Damn Dog!

Thursday, January 28, 2010

So tired.

Lately we've been busy well he's been busy and I wait for him. He works till 630 pm when everything here closes at 7 pm it's crap. we never get to do anything and now they want him to start working Saturdays as a normal duty day. We both kind of wish he was in a line unit at least then he would have more time at home. But on a brighter note we spent new years in Trier which is the oldest city in the Alps. It was actually pretty fun. The most amazing thing I remember was this church when you walked in the feeling you got was almost over-powering. I did enjoy the Porta Nigra and the Throne room but this Church, which is still a functioning church they had Sunday mass the next day, was my favorite. When we went the Collisieum and and the Roman Baths were closed so we will be going back but I think for those we'll wait for spring it got a tad cold! I need to start planning our next weekend trip maybe Cologne. Oh but I did find out about a castle about 20 minutes away with a hotel and a resteraunt inside.. I am soooooo there lol. Maybe I can get him to take me sometime soon. Anyways I guess thats all I can't complain much I just don't like to lol. Plus I am working on a basketweave afghan and the BPDC is trying to kill me!
